Six riders extend with CCC Sprandi Polkowice

Six current CCC Sprandi Polkowice riders have extended their contracts for 2018 season – Łukasz Owsian, Michał Paluta, Kamil Małecki, Patryk Stosz, Jonas Koch and Polish champion, Adrian Kurek.

We are very excited that these guys will stay with us next season. Łukasz Owsian and Adrian Kurek have been racing for our team for 6 and 5 years respectively. They are true professionals and we know that we can always count on them. The other four riders are still very young and they all have developed a lot in the recent years. Especially Kamil Małecki who signed with us after his last season as a junior and we helped him take his first steps in professional cycling. His progress has been outstanding and now, as a 21-year old, he claimed some good results in elite and U23 category – Piotr Wadecki, sports director of CCC Sprandi Polkowice explains.

Łukasz Owsian is a two-time participant in Giro d’Italia and in 2017 he took mountains classification in OVO Energy Tour of Britain and won Polish one-day race, Korona Kocich Gór. Michał Paluta is a former two-time Polish U23 champ and recently finished 8th in U23 world championships. For Patryk Stosz it’s been his first season in elite category, putting on good performance in Tour of Małopolska, (where he sprinted to 2nd on the stage) and in Polish Championships – after spending most of the day in the breakaway, he was able to finish the race in 5th place.

Adrian Kurek, who secured white-and-red jersey in Gdynia and was part of the team which won TTT stage at Coppi e Bartali, is another rider, who will stay with Polkowice-based squad.

Jonas Koch was a late addition, but he quickly convinced the team’s management that he deserves a spot on the roster. He’s been showcasing solid and steady form throughout the season, claiming few top 15’s.

Kamil Małecki proved his potential winning one of the stages at Carpathian Couriers Race and finishing 2nd overall. He also won youth classification in Mazovia Tour and was selected to the National Team to compete in the U23 world championships.

Jan Tratnik, Alan Banaszek, Frantisek Sisr and Michal Schlegel are also confirmed to continue ride for CCC Sprandi Polkowice as they have valid contracts until the end of 2018.

Negotiations with other current riders are ongoing and team will announce the contract extensions  as soon as they become official.
