Tom Dumoulin won the final stage of Tour de Suisse, individual time trial, while Simon Spilak claimed the overall victory. Marek Rutkiewicz was the best time trialist of the day on the Polkowice-based team and Davide Rebellin finished the 9-stage event in the Top 30.
The race against the clock was 38,4-kilometers long. It was held around the city of Bern. The first CCC Sprandi Polkowice rider to go was Marek Rutkiewicz. He posted the time – 51:40. It turned out to be the best result set by “rider in orange”. At the end he took 47th place.
Davide Rebellin, who was the highest ranked man in the squad and was the last one to roll off the start ramp, could only manage 82nd on the day, 4:47 back. Eventually he finished 26th overall, 16:52 behind the winner
Tom Dumoulin smashed everyone’s times and he covered 38 kilometers in 48:36. He was fastest than Simon Spilak, who was second, by 18 seconds and third Fabian Cancellara by 19 seconds. The Slovenian rider from Katusha secured the victory in the final general classification. He bested Geraint Thomas (Team Sky), who was 5th in the time trial, and Dumoulin.
