Mattia Gavazzi (Androni Venezuela) was the winner of the last stage of the Tour de San Luis. Bartlomiej Matysiak (CCC Polsat Polkowice) finished in fifth place high.
The last stage of Tour de San Luis (kat.2.1) in Argentine was played on the stage route from San Luis to Juan Koslay. Phase consisted of 155 km and ran after a relatively flat route with a few small hills.
After the last stage, where it was actually placed general classification race, there was no indication that this will be such a dynamic stage of the course. Flat profile of the route again preferred cyclists that specializing in sprints. And again, as in the previous days from the start peloton has imposed a very high rate, even though it lacked adventurers to attack. From the very start CCC Polsat Polkowice were very active. Adrian Kurek tried to escape. Group of escapees gained an advantage that around half of the distance was more than 3 minutes. Unfortunately, the team Omega Pharma – Quick, hoping to finish Mark Cavendish, imposed in the peloton very strong pace and dominance of a group with Adrian began to decline dramatically. At 15 kilometers from the finish the peloton caught up the group with Adrian, and all together rode to the finish line. The last finishings meters were very exciting. In the front of peloton were four cyclists of CCC. Bartek Matysiak used his position and rode on the 5th position. The winner of the stage was Mattia Gavazzi (Androni Venezuela). He beat Peter Sagan (Cannondale Pro Cycling) and Francisco Ventoso (Movistar).
