On Tuesday, 1 May, in a circuitous course around Baboszewo the 24th edition of the International Race for the Memorial of Andrzej Trochanowski will be held. It is the first in the season of 2012 cycling race from the UCI calendar and a race belonging to the cycle of BGŻ ProLiga at the same time.
This year’s edition of the cycling race – the Memorial of Andrzej Trochanowski – will be held along a slightly changed route. The peloton will have a distance of the total length of 166 kilometres to ride, divided into 8 laps, 21 kilometres each. The riders, after the start in Baboszewo, will ride through Mystkowo, Cywiny – Dynguny, Bożewo, Kowale and Brzeście, to return to Baboszewo again. The route of the race leads along the especially flat roads of Mazowsze, which in the struggle for the victory is favourable for the riders who specialize in sprints. The only obstacle for the contestants may be the wind, and its strong gusts may make the peloton divide, the more so because most of the route leads across an open area.
At the starting line there will be all Polish professional teams: BDC MarcPol, BGŻ Team, CCC Polsat Polkowice, Wibatech Ziemia Brzeska, Legia as well as riders from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and Belarus.
The team of CCC Polsat Polkowice is going to appear as follows: Gawroński Piotr, Sylwester Janiszewski, Tomasz Kiendyś, Bartłomiej Matysiak, Nikolay Mihaylov, Marek Rutkiewicz, Grzegorz Stępniak and Mateusz Taciak.
