The CCC team is starting their next training camp

The team of CCC starts their next, two-week training camp for training and condition forming on 28 January. The riders, together with their sporting director Piotr Wadecki, are leaving for Spain, to realize further their schedule of preparations for starts in the cycling season of 2012.

After the hard work of the first part of the winter time, which was mainly a training to improve the riders’ efficiency and strength, among others at a training camp in Piechowice, the riders of the CCC Polkowice team are leaving for Spain, to begin further preparations for the coming cycling season.

In Spain we are getting on the bikes and we are starting trainings, aimed at building up the kilometre base – informs director Piotr Wadecki. After the winter training camp in the LAS hotel, where we spent a lot of time on cross country skis, and at work-outs at the gym, the time has come to train on bikes. We will carry out trainings both on flat routes, as well as in the mountains, increasing the intensity of the trainings gradually. The training cycle has been prepared in such a way as to make a full use of the strength built up during the winter training camps and to enter the cycling season of 2012 well prepared.

The team’s training base is, as every year, a beautiful place not far from Barcelona, Lloret de Mar. The Costa Blanca coast in the Catalunya region has a lot of most beautiful routes, allowing training both on quite a flat area and along more demanding mountain routes. Additionally, in this time of the year, the thermal conditions are comfortable – the temperature during the day is 12-15 ⁰C, days are mostly sunny and there is not wind.

Almost the whole team of CCC Polkowice is going to Spain, for the first time joined by the Bulgarian Nikolay Mihaylov. In Lloret de Mar there will not be Dariusz Batek, who in the cycling season of 2012, decided to fight for the qualifications to participate in the Olympic Games in London, in MTB races. For that purpose, with the approval of the MTB national team coach, Marek Galiński, he started a cycle of preparations together with the team of women MTB riders, and he went for the training camp in Calpe. In Lloret de Mar also Rafał Ratajczyk will not be present, preparing himself for the season by participating in competitions of the so-called six-days.

In the team the atmosphere is very good. All riders are healthy, in perfect moods and the work we are supposed to do during the training camp in Lloret de Mar will have to translate into good results during the coming season – adds Piotr Wadecki.

The riders’ stay at the camp in Spain is going to last until 14 February. After returning to Poland, the riders will have an about-ten-day break, to return afterwards to Spain for their next training camp.
