On Wednesday 29 June, the start in Nowy Sącz will begin the 22nd edition of the Race of Solidarity and Olympics (the 2.1 category). This year’s edition is made of four stages, and the cyclists will ride a distance of 670 kilometres.
At the starting line there will be nineteen teams with the line-up of six cyclists each, and among them the teams of CCC Polsat Polkowice, BGŻ Team, Legia Felt, also: Polska MTB, Polska Młodzieżowa, Polska Elita and Polska Szosowa consisting of cyclists from the teams of BDC Team and Aktio Mostostal Puławy. The team of CCC Polsat Polkowice, led by the sports manager Robert Krajewski will appear as follows: Łukasz Bodnar, Andre Schulze, Bartłomiej Matysiak , Tomasz Kiendyś. The line-up will be complemented by this year’s medal winners of the championships of Poland in Złotoryja: Tomasz Marczyński (the Champion of Poland in individual time trial, and in massed start race) and Tomasz Smoleń (Vice-Champion in massed start race).
Apart from the Polish teams, in which we will see about 50 cyclists in total, at the starting line in Nowy Sącz there will also be cyclists from foreign teams from Germany, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus. The famous Danish cyclist Michael Rasmussen from Christina Watches as well as the Italian sprint cyclist Angelo Furlan have announced their participation.
