The prologue in Zgierz began the 25th all-Poland National Cycling Race „Szlakiem Bursztynowym 2010″. In this race the team of CCC Polsat Polkowice started with a very limited line-up.
Due to the period of very intense spring preparations and first races, some racers are taking the opportunity to have a short rest, while Tomasz Marczyński and Adrian Honkisz are being treated for the injuries they suffered in the crashes during the Tour of Turkey.
There were four cyclists at the start of the race: Jarosław Rębiewski, Tomasz Lisowicz, Tomasz Smoleń and Krzysztof Jeżowski. Despite the absence of their teammates they declared a fight for the victory. “It will be very hard, because there are only 4 of us, but we will do everything not to fall short of the management’s expectations” – said before entering the prologue Jarosław Rębiewski.
The prologue, 43 km long (18 rounds, 2,4 km each), served solely to give away jerseys in particular classifications. During the 6th round a group of 9 cyclists broke away and they arrived at the finish line with several seconds of advantage over the main peleton. From that group Jarosław Rębiewski was 6th. The rest of our racers arrived in the peleton.
