On Sunday , 21 August in Hamburg the 16th edition of one of the most important races in the world calendar of UCI Word Tour 2011 – Vattenfall Cyclassics – will be held. At the starting line of the race the team of CCC Polsat Polkowice is going to stand with the wildcard.
21 teams will enter the competition, and among them all the UCI Pro Teams, and also three teams with wild cards: CCC Polsat Polkowice, Team NetApp and Skil Shimano.
The ‘orange’ team supervized by the sports manager Robert Krajewski is going to appear as follows: Paweł Charucki, Andre Schulze, Marek Rutkiewicz, Mateusz Taciak, Jacek Morajko, Bartłomiej Matysiak, Mariusz Witecki and Kamil Zieliński.
The starting and finishing line are located in Hamburg, and the cyclists are going to ride a distance of 215 kilometres.
For the first time the race was held in 1996 as HEW-Cyclassics Hamburg. In 2006 its name was changed into Vattenfall Cyclassics and it became at the same time an event belonging to Pro Tour. The route of the race leads along the laps around Hamburg, and it does not belong to easy ones, because the cyclists have to climb the Waseberg hill many times, as well as ride on the highest bridge in Hamburg – Köhlbrandbrücke.
