Szymon Sajnok finished 6th in stage 3 of Tour de Slovaquie, which was the first opportunity for sprinters.
Info: September 15th, Dubnica nad Vahom – Nitra, 180,6km
It didn’t take long until the breakaway of the day was formed. Patrik Tybor and Jan Barta went clear after an early intermediate sprint (which was not contested by GC favorites), at the foot of the first categorized climb of the day. Later the duo gained 4 minutes on the bunch.
It was down to nothing with 15km to go and the bunch sprint finish was inevitable. The “orange squad” set up their train at the helm of the pack, to lead out the fastest of them, Szymon Sajnok. He finished the day in 6th place, while 2nd overall, Jan Tratnik came in in the peloton, retaining his podium spot.
Since none of the GC contenders claimed any bonus seconds on the stage, the gaps in general standings remained the same.
