The second stage of Tour de Taiwan, 136 km long took place in a relatively flat area, and as it could be expected, it was the sprint climbers who were to struggle for the victory. In spite of the hot weather in the peleton there were numerous attempts to break away; however the finish line was crossed by almost whole peleton.
This time Tomasz Smoleń did very well and he reached the good third place.
The winner of the second stage, from Chiayi to Fentigian was a Japanese Miyataka Shimizu from the team of Bridgestone Anchor. On the finish line, in a sprinter duel he defeated Kam-Po Wong (Hong Kong, China) and Tomasz Smoleń (Merida CCC Team).
The leader of the race after two stages is still the Irishman David McCann from the team of Giant Asia Racing Team.
