Giovani Visconti won his second consecutive stage during the Tour of Turkey. The cyclist of ISD-Neri took the lead in the general classification thanks to a break-away.
Yukihiro Doi (Skil-Shimano), Philp Ludescher (Vorarlberg-Corratec) and Alberto Fernandez (Xacobeo-Galicia), broke away at the initial kilometres of the fourth stage and soon they gained an advantage of several minutes.
During a climb two racers of ISD-Neri split from the peleton: Oscar Gatto and Longo Borghini, and after a few dozens kilometres of chase closed the distance to the escape group and joined the lead.
During another hard climb the peleton started to split. A lead formed in the quick pace and numerous attacks, with: Cristiano Salerno (De Rosa Stac Plastic), Tejay Van Garderen (HTC-Columbia), David Moncoutié (Cofidis), Giampaolo Chuela (Footon Servetto) and Visconti.
Harmonious work after less than twenty minutes led to 10 cyclist in the lead, and the peleton was 4 minutes adrift. Despite the strong chase they were not able even to come closer to the escape group, where the team of ISD-Neri worked for its leader.
The work paid off, since Visconti finished wonderfully, gaining the second victory for his team. The Italian took the leading place also in the general classification.
The racers of CCC Polsat Polkowice gave a poor performance. Tomasz Marczyński did not participate in the stage, Adrian Honkisz took part in a crash and the others took very distant places.
