The German André Greipel from HTC-Columbia won its third stage, triumphing in the fifth leg of the Tour of Turkey. The Italian Giovani Visconti from ISD-Neri remains the leader.
A 200-km-long break-away of a group of cyclists did not bring much effect, as that day the racers of HTC-Columbia wanted to bring to the finish line their superb sprint cyclist André Greipel. The team of ISD-Neri having the leader of the race, controlled the situation in the whole stage, not letting go far the six bold racers.
In the final kilometres there were seen also the orange outfits of CCC Polsat Polkowice. The team counted on Krzysztofa Jeżowski, who was quite well set, however competitors were definitely too strong.
Greipel won for the third consecutive time beating the Italian Matti Gavazzi (Colnago – CSF Inox) and the Dutchman Kenny Van Hummela (Skil-Shimano). Jeżowski was 15th.
