During the track cycling championships of Europe in Apeldoorn, in points race of men, Rafał Ratajczyk (CCC Polsat Polkowice) won the golden medal.
‘Rataj’ won the title of the champion of the Continent in the points race. The Pole collected 43 points and he defeated the Swiss rider Silvan Dillier by four points. The bronze medal was won by the Czech rider Milan Kadlec (36 points).
Rafał Ratajczyk is taking part in the rivalry in Omnium. After three out of six events, in the overall classification he is in the 5th place, with 19 points won.
The leader is Viviani (9 points), a regular cyclist of the Italian Liquigas-Cannondale. The second place is held by the French rider Bryan Coquard (10 points), and the third place is occupied by the British cyclist Edward Clancy (17 points). The Pole has been overtaken by the German Roger Kluge, who has two points fewer than Ratajczyk.
On Sunday the decisive part in Omnium and a struggle in the remaining three events, which will decide on the distribution of the medals – a pursuit race, a scratch race and a one-kilometre standing-start race.
