Trofeo Laigueglia: Sisr 32nd in Italian one-day event

Frantisek Sisr finished Trofeo Laigueglia in 32nd and was the highest placed rider of CCC Sprandi Polkowice in that event.

Info: February 10th,  Laigueglia – Laigueglia, 203,7km

Course: undulating (four laps with one 1-kilometer “bump” in the final 44 kilometers)

The race saw three riders riding in the front and gaining 9-minute advantage over the peloton, which included entire young squad of CCC Sprandi Polkowice. The average age of the “orange roster” was only 22 and for all the guys in the lineup it was first race of the season.

The trio got caught with 40km to go, by a large group of chasers, who attacked from the field. Later they dropped initial escapees and the finale featured multiple attempts to launch a winning move from the 18-man break. Unfortunately it didn’t include any of “riders in orange”.

The key moment of the race was the solo attack of Moreno Moser (Italy). He built a gap on his rivals on the last lap and held on to win Trofeo Laigueglia. Paolo Toto (Sangemini – MG.Kvis) came in 2nd and Matteo Busato (Wilier Triestina – Selle Italia) 3rd.

Frantisek Sisr was the top finisher of Polkowice-based squad, finishing in 32th place.
