Six U23 riders from CCC Sprandi Polkowice will participate in the upcoming two Italian events – Trofeo PIVA and Giro Belvedere di Villa di Cordignano (both cat. 1.2U).
Everyone from the squad, except very young Kamil Małecki, have already a lot of racing kilometers in their legs, for that time of the year. They took part in three Croatian races – one of them was a stage race – and some of them raced in Mallorca and Dutch Ronde Van Zeeland Seaports. It were all races for elite category and now the riders will compete against riders in their age. It will be the final test prior first three Nations Cup events – Piotr Wadecki, team’s DS said.
In Italy the team will be led by sport director, Tomasz Brożyna.
Both Trofeo PIVA and Giro Belvedere di Villa di Cordignano are only for espoirs. The former will be held on a hilly, 170km course around Col San Martino. In the previous year small groups would arrive at the finish and a significant part of the peloton would not complete the race.
The latter will start and end in the town of Villa di Villa. After covering first 10 laps (12,1km each) they will enter the final two circuits (16,5km long) with a climb to Montaner. The total distance of the day will be 154 km.
