Alan Banaszek sprinted to 10th place in 1.2 race, Visegrad 4 Bicycle Race Grand Prix Poland, held in Sobótka.
Info: April 22nd, Sobótka – Sobótka, 172km
Course: 10 undulating laps, 17,2km each
The race got off to a lively start with multiple riders going clear and eventually gaining almost 5 minutes on the bunch later on. Young, 4-man CCC Sprandi Polkowice team was pedaling easily in the bunch.
The main peloton was not very eager to start the chase early, as they began to close in on the escapees with more determination, with two laps to go. It turned out to be just enough, as they caught the escape on the last circuit.
The winner came from the pack, but not after a mass gallop, but after a solo move. It was made by Maciej Paterski who powered to victory. The remaining two places on the podium were distributed after a mass sprint and Vojtech Hacecky (Elkov – Author) got 2nd and Eryk Latoń 3rd (Hurom).
Alan Banaszek was the team’s top finisher, sprinting to 10th.
