WSiO: Wadecki wins in Kleszczów, Smoleń 8th.

The winner of the first stage of the Solidarności and Olimpijczyków race is the cyclist of the Aktio Group Mostostal Puławy team, Adam Wadecki. At the finishing line in Kleszczów he beat two German sprint cyclists: Andre Schulze from PSK Whirpool – Author and Steffen Radochla from Team Nutrixxion Sparkasse.

During the first stage from Łódź to Kleszczów in the peloton there were numerous attempts to break away. From the very beginning the control over the peloton was held by the CCC Polsat Polkowice team, which lead to the victory of Krzysztof Jeżowski in the sprint stage in his home place Pabianice. The further part of the race meant the incessant attacks from the peloton and consistent elimination of the break-away groups. When the peloton entered the lap around Kleszczów it was already clear that it was the sprint cyclists who would fight for the victory in the stage. In the sprinters duel Adam Wadecki turned out to be the best and it is he who will wear the jersey of the leader of the race for the afternoon stage 2 from Radomsko to Piotrków Trybunalski.

Tomasz Smoleń finished in the 8th place.

In the general classification and in the points classification Wadecki leads, in the jubilee classification the leader is the German Eric Baumann from Team NetApp, in the U23 category the leader is Vincent Baestaens from Telenet Fidea which leads in the teams classification.
